Session 061 - Roundtable: Radwaste Shipping Challenges at Operating US Nuclear Power Plants (R4.4)

Description

This session focused on how operating nuclear power plants are dealing with changes in radwaste operations as well as an evolving regulatory environment. Specifically, operating plants are dealing with a renewed regulatory focus on shipping processes at a time when the industry is experiencing changes to their operating model. Areas of interest included the following: 1) Shipping changes in regulatory environment; 2) Accurate and Efficient Characterization of Waste; 3) LLW disposal site interaction / concerns; 4) Alternate approaches to Shipping Model.
