Conventional radiography in traumatic atlanto-occipital dislocation

Different roentgenometric methods are discussed with reference to a case of atlanto-occipital dislocation (AOD). The most accurate information is provided by Lee's X-line method, which also allows differentiation of the three forms of this injury. As survival has been reported in cases of AOD, early conventional radiography diagnosis is especially important. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Anhand einer eigenen Beobachtung einer traumatischen atlanto-occipitalen Dislokation (AOD) wird die Wertigkeit der verschiedenen roentgenometrischen Methoden eroertert. Den hoechsten Informationswert besitzt die Methode nach Lee, mit der zudem die drei verschiedenen Formen der AOD differenziert werden koennen. Die fruehzeitige Erkennung einer AOD erhoeht die Ueberlebenschancen dieser Schwerverletzten, so dass der notfallmaessigen, konventionellen radiologischen Diagnostik besondere Bedeutung zukommt.
