A contribution to the coolant mass flow distribution determination in WWER-type pressurized water reactors with internal elliptical sieve plate

Description
A method is presented for calculating the mass flow distribution in an elliptical sieve plate preceding the coolant inlet into the core. It makes allowance for pressure drops due to both plate and core. In the downcomer as well as in the gap between elliptical sieve plate and pressure vessel lower head a potential two-dimensional flow is assumed. The boundary condition imposed on the flow by the shape pressure drop of the sieve plate is taken into account seperately from the calculation of the potential field. (author)
