An aid to mass spectrometric analysis of solid mixtures

  • 1. Essex Univ., Colchester (UK)

Description

A technique is described which facilitates mass spectrometric analysis of solid mixtures. It has been found that ion peak intensities show a dependence on distance between sample container and ion source which is specific to the parent molecule. This specificity enables the peaks of a spectrum to be assigned to the individual components of the mixture.
