Reactor
Description
Purpose: To cause a fast reactor to have such an inherent safety that the coolant is naturally injected to cool when molten fuels move to the lower part of the core. Constitution: A nozzle injecting a low-temperature, high-pressure fluid is provided at the lower part of the core. Here, if a melting accident should occur in the core, and the injection nozzle should be molten by the contact with molten fuels, a low-temperature high-pressure fluid from a pressure storage tank in constantly pressed state would be automatically injected, and molten fuels moving continuously from the upper part is cooled while agitating the same with this high pressure injection fluid. By this procedure, since fuels are converted from the molten state to solid state, a state where they penetrate through the lower part of the reactor vessel can be prevented, and leakage of nuclear matters, fission products and the like out of the reactor vessel can be prevented.
