Effect of rare earth ion complexing in solutions on sensitivity of intracavity laser spectroscopy method

Description

The influence of rare-earth ion complexing with some chelating ligands (NTA, EDTA, NTF) on sensitivity of the metal determination by the intracavity laser spectroscopy (ILS) method is investigated. On the example of neodymium it is experimentally shown that formation of neodymium complexes with EDTA in the solution decreases the detection limit of the metal up to 10-6 M. The numerical calculations of IL spectra show the strong dependence of the gap depth in IL spectra on the absorption band width. The fulfilled experiments confirm these calculations
