Fuel cycle prospect of future nuclear systems

Description

To develop nuclear power system which is highly economical and enhanced safe, to prepare for increasing energy consuming in the future and to contribute sustainable development of human beings, the generation IV (GEN-IV) reactor systems are proposed worldwide and international research programs for GEN-IV are going to start soon. The final goals of GEN-IV are highly economical, enhanced safety, minimal waste, and proliferation resistance. This report deals with the characteristics of selected GEN-IV reactor systems and the concept of fuel cycles which are proposed by fuel cycle crosscut group (FCCG) for GEN-IV. Additionally, fuel properties and recycle processes of each GEN-IV reactor system are also described in this report. This report will be helpful to provide basic information for research programs of GEN-IV
