An assessment of the radiological significance of historic discharges into the River Thames

The report examines the discharges of radionuclides made by the major nuclear sites in the Thames Valley into the River Thames. Disposal records for the period 1948 to 1997 have been examined as well as monitoring data since 1951. The main conclusion drawn is that resultant doses from public drinking water derived from the Thames would not have exceeded 10% of the current dose limits. (author)
