On mechanism of V3Ga phase formation in V/Cu-Ga composite material

  • 1. AN SSSR, Sverdlovsk. Inst. Fiziki Metallov

Description

Structural change of V/Cu-Ga superconducting composite material in the process of V3Ga phase transformation is studied by transmission electron microscopy. It is stated, that this process begins from coherent nucleus formation, after oversaturation of vanadium with gallium due to reactive diffusion, the nuclei having crystallographic bonds with the V-matrix. Formation of the continuous V3Ga layer results from a succeeding increase of the precipitates density and recrystallization of this structure
