Magneto-acoustic oscillations in a toroidal plasma

Description

Toroidal effects on forced axisymmetric magneto-acoustic oscillations in a conventional Tokamak plasma are investigated to first order in the inverse aspect ratio, using dissipative magnetohydrodynamic theory. It is shown that toroidal effects give rise to poloidally asymmetric components but magneto-acoustic resonance is still obtained and it is determined by an analytic expression for the perturbed toroidal magnetic field.
