Precise determination of gamma-ray peak areas
Creators

Description
Experimental pulse height distributions of ''gamma lines'' taken with a HPGe (high-purity germanium) detector are considered as the sum of exponentials convoluted with a Gaussian. With this model, peak areas have been evaluated from the parameters of the exponentials at gamma-ray energies ranging from 0.1 to 1.8 MeV. In measurements with 137Cs samples, the ratio of peak areas at 662 keV agreed with the given ratio of photon flux values to within ±0.2%. (orig.)
