Investigation of interactions in the BN-AlN-Mg3N2 system at atmospheric and high pressures

Description
The system BN-AlN-Mg3N2 has been studied under atmospheric and high pressures (30, 50 and 75 kbar) by the method of X-ray phase analysis. It is shown that under a high pressure no formation of quaternary compounds occurs, while under atmospheric pressure one ternary nitride of equimolecular composition Mg3AlBN4 is formed, which decomposes into Mg3N5, Mg3B2N4 and Mg3BN3 when heated under a high pressure. 11 refs.; 2 figs.; 2 tabs
