Description
Extinction or distinct reduction of the occurrence area of some animals at the present time has been caused by anthropic factors. In some cases this process has been very rapid. It is well documented for the invertebrates such as the macrozoobentos species. The diminished area was historically documented for Parnassius apollo. The probably disappeared species of Cicadidae are quoted among the threatened species of Slovakia. (authors)
