Fibroadenoma of the mamma

Description
In 856 female patients round opacities were found in mammography. In 58 patients of this group the pathological and histological results were known. 125 female patients had been examined more than three times. With these 183 fibroadenomas thus established, criteria were worked out facilitating the decision whether surgical intervention would be required or short-term control could be justified. In comparison with the benign opacities, these histologically confirmed carcinomas were examined according to clinical, thermographical and radiological criteria. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Bei 856 Patientinnen wurden in der Mammographie Rundschatten festgestellt. Bei diesem Patientenkollektiv waren in 58 Faellen pathologisch-histologische Ergebnisse bekannt. 125 Patientinnen wurden oefter als dreimal kontrolliert. Bei den so gesicherten 183 Fibroadenomen wurden retrospektiv Richtlinien ausgearbeitet, die die Entscheidung erleichtern sollen, ob eine chirurgische Abklaerung erforderlich oder eine kurzfristige Kontrolle zu verantworten ist. Im Vergleich zu den gutartigen Rundschatten wurden die auch histologisch gesicherten Karzinome nach klinischen, thermographischen und roentgenologischen Kriterien aufgeschluesselt.
