A model for positron trapping at voids in metals

Description

A semi-classical model is presented, providing a general description of positron trapping at voids in metals. The model explains why positron trapping rates increase linearly with temperature, from a non- zero value at 0 K. It is shown that information about the void radius can be deduced from the temperature dependent part of the trapping rate
