Comparative fracture assessment analyses of postulated defects in a reactor pressure vessel with international participation (RPV-PTS-ICAS)

Description
Under the roof of the international intercomparison, RPV PTS International Comparative Assessment Study, FE analyses have been performed for assessment of a 4-loop RPV of western design with various postulated cracks in the core facing welded joint, assuming defined transient states. One study was devoted to examination of the effects of parameters such as crack geometry, plating thickness, load transient, and the relevant postulated cooling conditions, on the analytically determined maximum permissible temperature prior to the value initiating brittle fracture of the RPV. Ten FE analyses have been carried out for this case (primarily 3D analyses) and have been validated. (orig./CB)

Im Rahmen der internationalen Vergleichsstudie RPV PTS ICAS wurden Finite Elemente (FE) Analysen eines 4-Loop Reaktordruckbehaelters westlicher Bauart mit unterschiedlichen postulierten Rissen in der kernnahen Schweissnaht und vorgegebenen Transienten durchgefuehrt. Dabei wurde in einer Studie der Einfluss der Parameter Rissgeometrie, Plattierungsdicke, Belastungstransiente einschliesslich Kuehlungsannahmen auf die analytisch bestimmte maximal zulaessige Sproedbruchuebergangstemperatur RTNDTzul. untersucht. Dazu wurden 10 FE Analysen (ueberwiegend dreidimensional) durchgefuehrt und bewertet. (orig.)
