Comparison of resolution changes when performing continuous versus step-and-shoot rotation for SPECT data acquisition

Description

Continuous acquisitions of single photon emission computed tomography data would be more efficient than the usual step-and-shoot acquisition. This paper discusses a study under way to determine if there are resolution changes between the two modes of camera motion during data acquisition. Radial and tangential resolution measurements were made of transaxially reconstructed line sources imaged at 13.5 cm and two angular bin sizes (30 and 60). Preliminary results indicate that there is no significant difference in radial resolution at the center of the phantom between the two acquisition modes
