Numerical laboratory of laser-driven x-ray lasers

Description
A numerical laboratory of x-ray lasers is developed by integrating simulation systems of the plasma hydrodynamics, atomic process, and radiation transport for the short, intense laser produced plasmas. Calculations of the temporal and spatial evolution of the gain of the transient collisional excited (TCE) Ni-like Ag x-ray laser agree qualitatively with experiment. The system codes are shown to be a useful tool for the development of x-ray lasers. (author)
