Experimental and theoretical distributions of inelastically scattered radiation from aluminium in an EDXRF spectrometer

Description
The double differential Compton cross section for aluminum has been calculated and compared with the measured spectral distribution in an EDXRF spectrometer. The agreement between the theory and experiment indicates that the spectral distribution is almost entirely due to Compton scattering in the sample. (orig.)
