Effect of radionuclide release for the HFETR first Loop radioactive dose

  • 1. Nuclear Power Institute of China, Chengdu (China)

Description

In-pile testing of fuel assembly increases the main loop coolant radioactive dose anomaly uncertainty, it is difficult to effectively determine whether the radiation component is the cause of the reactor-loop water quality anomalies. Based on the equilibrium relationship between the generation and disappearance of radionuclides in the water, a calculation model of abnormal rise of water quality is established. The calculation model could be used as a criterion for the occurrence of damage in the process of in-pile fuel assembly testing. At the same time, the influence of the in. pile testing of fuel assembly for the coolant radioactive dose can be analyzed. Taking the abnormally coolant radioactive dose of HFETR as a research object, by comparing the calculated results with the monitoring data, it was found that the in · pile testing fuel assembly did not break, and it is not the reason for the abnormal activity of the effluent. The off-pile disintegration detection of fuel assembly shows no damage, which is consistent with the conclusion of the calculation model. (authors)
