Application of enamel EPR deconvolution program in radiation dose reconstruction

Description
Objective: To investigate the application of enamel EPR deconvolution program in dose reconstruction in the low dose region. Methods: A series of deconvolution procedure were composed to simulate the EPR spectra of the enamel samples irradiated by different low doses , and the corresponding radiation-induced signal (RIS) intensities were obtained. The dose-response curve was depicted by linear regression of RIS intensities versus the nominal doses. The accuracy of the spectra processing procedure was also discussed. Results: The dose- response curve: IRIS= 14.04+0.768D (mGy), the correlation coefficient was 0.997, and SD=19.8 mGy. Conclusion: The technology can decrease the lower limit of the reconstructed enamel EPR dose to around 200 mGy. (authors)
