Description

The problem of design basis accidents of nuclear power plants is discussed. Briefly described are the different categories of accidents caused by changes in reactivity, leaks of the primary circuit, leaks of the secondary circuit, faulty function of components, accidents in systems containing radioactive materials and accidents caused by external factors. Attention is also given to safety systems of WWER-440 reactors of type V-213, this in both the passive and the active systems of emergency core cooling and the system of pressure reduction and localization of radioactive materials in the sealed area.
