Metamagnetism and SDW state in U(Ru1-xRhx)2Si2 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.1)

Description
The magnetic phase diagram of single crystals of U(Ru1-xRhx)2Si2 is investigated in fields up to 55 T. Three-step metamagnetic transitions are observed for x < 0.05. Free energy considerations of the transition fields indicate that the partially gapped heavy fermion state with weak antiferromagnetic moment (SDW) in URu2Si2 is destroyed at the first transition field. A possible H-T phase diagram of the gapped state is discussed. (orig.)
