Description
Nanomaterials having extremely large surface area to volume ratio are expected to provide unprecedented opportunities in developing a new class of sorbents for chromatographic applications due to their unique surface and morphological features. Further, owing to the high radiation stability, nanomaterials can withstand the radiation environment and demonstrate consistently good performance over a prolonged period of time. This article is about vastly studied silicon nanoparticles which show application of Si nanoparticles to energy source, electronic, sensor, catalysis and biomedical purposes. The present work deals with synthesis, characterization and application of nanosilica (SINP) in radiochemical separation of therapeutically important radioisotope 90Y from its parent radionuclide 90Sr in column chromatographic technique
