Solvent extraction and radiochemical separation of Zn(II) and Hg(II)

  • 1. Nuclear Chemistry Division, The Institute of Science, Mumbai (India)

Description

The present work deals with the radiochemical separation of Hg(II) and Zn(II) employing solvent extraction technique. 0.6 mg of Hg(II) labelled with 203Hg was extracted with 1% methylene blue into nitrobenzene. Similarly, extraction of 1.0 mg of Zn(II) labelled with 65Zn was carried out with 2-mercaptobenzimidazole into chloroform. (author)
