Proceedings of the symposium on nuclear energy and development of country

The main objective of the symposium NEDC-2012 was to provide interaction between scientists and technologists from the field of nuclear energy with unit heads of local villages (Sarpanch), principals and educationists from the local schools and colleges as well as mahila mandal leaders. Over the past few decades, BARC has contributed a lot of useful research in various fields of life like agriculture, health, medicine, environment etc. This has resulted in development of large variety of high yielding and pest resistance crops/ seeds. Diagnostic equipment's like BHABHATRON have been developed and dedicated to society. Various medicines based on radiation have been developed for health care. The interaction is expected to educate the general public about various applications of nuclear energy and the safety aspects associated with it. Papers relevant to INIS are indexed separately
