Investigation of americium(6) complexing in phosphoric acid solutions
Description
Spectrophotometry and redox-potentiometry were employed to study Am(6) complex formation in (1x10-6-12M) phosphoric acid solutions. Two complexes with the 1:2 metal to ligand ratio are reported, namely an intraspheric AmOsub(2)(Hsub(2)O)sub(x-2)(Hsub(2)POsub(4))sub(2)sup(0) (lgβ20=3.3+-0.1) and an outerspheric complex AmOsub(2)(Hsub(2)O)sub(x)(Hsub(2)POsub(4))sub(2)sup(0) (lgβ20=4.61+-0.05)
