Gas cooled reactor

Description

This invention provides a gas cooled reactor in which gaseous uranium fuels charged to positive ionic states by means of external electromagnetic fields are confined within a reactor core by utilizing the fact that the uranium fuels and the hydrogen cooling materials in the gas cooled reactor are ions. The reactor comprises a device capable of utilizing interactions between gaseous uranium fuels and electromagnetic fields and strong electromagnetic fields for confining ions such that the intensity of the internal action is increased as aparting from the reactor core center. The strong magnetic field for ion confinment can be obtained with solenoid magnets made of super-conductive material. Further, since the magnetic flux density is increased as aparting from the reactor core center by disposing a gas cooled reactor to the inside of the Ioffe type coil, etc. There is an effects of returning ions tending to scatter outwardly to the center. Accordingly, it is possible to provide a nuclear reactor serving having both re-processing function and electricity generating function. (K.M.)
