Tokamak type thermonuclear device

Description

Purpose: To enable to assembly the contact face between the central pole and toroidal coils at high accuracy in the central pole structure of a duperconductive coil tokamak type thermonuclear device. Constitution: For the structural material of the central pole, those materials of lower linear expansion coefficient than that of constituent materials for toroidal coil support frames and inter-coil support structural materials (non-magnetic stainless steels, etc.), for example, fiber-reinforced composite metal materials are used. Thus, the heat shrinkage in the axial direction of the device at the contact face between the central pole and the toroidal coil support frames upon refrigeration of the device is made greater at the outer toroidal coils than at the central pole, and both of the members are tightly bonded by cold-fitting at the contact face. In addition, if a gap is formed between both of the members upon assembling by the assembling error at normal temperature, it is absorbed by the heat shrinkage difference between both of the members, and the members are tightly bonded with each other to thereby insure the predetermined initial arrangement and initial surface pressure.
