MEVVA type multicharged heavy ion source

Description
MEVVA-type ion source, wherein ions are formed in vacuum arc, burning in cathode substance vapour, was fabricated and tested at the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics. Ion pulse currents from 200 to 400 MA and pulse length of 0.1 ms were obtained. Ion charge distributions are measured for seven elements (Be, C, Al, Fe, Cu, Zr and W)
