High-resolution computed tomography of bronchiectasis - partial results

The objective of this work is to demonstrate the tomographic aspects of bronchiectasis correlating them with other radiological associated findings, clinical data and spirography. We analyzed the tomographic findings of 34 patients from the ambulatory of bronchiectasis. All the exams were made in a Hitachi CT, model W450, with the thorax high-resolution protiocol. The partial results of this work showed that CT is a good method, not even as a diagnostic complement in patients suspected of having bronchiectasis, but also as an useful instrument in demonstrating other tomographic findings that are common in chronic pulmonary diseases.
