FEMAXI-III calculations for the D-C0M blind problem

Description
This paper describes the results of FEMAXI-III calculation for the D-COM blind problem with general code description. The blind predictions were compared with the experimental results. The fission gas release predictions were good for rod AG11-10, and were underestimated for rod AG11-9. The grain growths were calculated using Ainscough's and Nichols' model from the temperature outputs of the code. Although predicted cladding ridge height was smaller than the measured value, the shape of the subridges were well reproduced. The overall performance of the code was satisfactory both in thermal and in mechanical analyses. The discussions were made to recommend experiments for the further improvement of the models. (author)
