Representation of the growth of pulmonary metastases in case of testicle tumors

Description
The communication of Kriester and others, that the growing behavior of pulmonary metastases in case of testicle tumors can be described by the function of Gompertz, is based on the observation of only eight formations of metastases the growth of which was determined three times each at relatively small intervals. The value of this communication is obviously limited due to this small number of observation data. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Die Aussage von Kriester et al., dass das Wachstumsverhalten von Lungenmetastasen bei Hodentumoren durch die Gompertz-Funktion beschrieben werden kann, stuetzt sich auf jeweils nur 3, in relativ kurzen zeitlichen Abstaenden vorgenommene Groessenbestimmungen von insgesamt 8 Metastasen verlaeufen. Diese geringe Zahl von Beobachtungsdaten setzt naturgemaess Grenzen des Aussagewertes. (orig.)Additional details
