Effects of viscous solar wind interaction with the magnetotail plasma sheet
Description
The problem of generation of electrical fields in the magnetotail is studied. Within the framework of single-liquid magnetohydrodynamics the behaviour of incompressible plasma in an infinitely long layer is considered. It is shown that the mechanism of viscous friction can explain the principal morphological peculiarities of electrical fields and plasma motions in the magnetotail
