Assessment of serviceability of liquid radioactive wastes tanks with 250-500 m3 capacity made of corrosion-resistant steel

Description
Research is described in determining the resistance to corrosion-mechanical failure of steel 08Kh18N10 steel tanks under conditions of constant contact with liquid intermediate-level radioactive wastes (LRW). It is shown that for determining a LRW tank life, in addition to a knowledge of corrosion resistance of the steels in LWR, their cracking resistance parameters and maximal degree of postweld sensitization of a welded joint should be taken into account. When evaluating cracking resistance of the steel used for LRW tanks manufacture, consideration must be given not only to stresses from external loads but to residual welding stresses as well. Surface welding defects must be eliminated by machining
Abstract (Russian)
Приведены исследования по определению сопротивления коррозионно-механическим разрушениям баков из стали 08Х18Н10 в условиях постоянного контакта ее с жидкими радиоактивными отходами (ЖРО) средней активности. Показано, что для определения ресурса баков ЖРО требуются не только характеристики коррозионной стойкости примененных сталей в продукте ЖРО, но и характеристики их трещиностойкости, максимальная степень сенсибилизации сварного соединения после выполнения сварочных работ. При оценке трещиностойкости стали, используемой для баков ЖРО, необходимо учитывать не только напряжения от внешних нагрузок, но и остаточные напряжения от сварки. Поверхностные дефекты, образующиеся в процессе сварки, должны быть удалены механической обработкойAdditional details
