Study of hydrogen permeation of austenitic steels and alloys under elevated pressures
Creators
Description
Experimental data on hydrogen permeation od austenitic nickel-chromium steels and alloys in high-purity hydrogen and technical hydrogen at the temperatures of 200-800 deg C and pressures of 1-50 MPa are obtained. The data show that during tests in high-purity hydrogen the rate of hydrogen permeation through austenitic nickel-chromium steels and alloys increases by a factor of approximately 2. It is shown that the effect of alloying elements on hydrogen permeation of austenitic steels and alloys is insignificant and is mainly related to different content of intermetallic phases and nature of oxide layer
