A position paper of the German-Swiss Association for radiological protection

During the last years, manifold concerns hove been raised regarding the actual status of radiological protection. The concerns apply likewise to scientific and technical aspects of the regulations and their implementation and - in particular - to the perception of radioactivity, radiation, and radiological protection by society. The German-Swiss Association for Radiological Protection (FS) has therefore established a working group to discuss questions of principle of radiological protection and to develop recommendations for its future development. After consultation of the members of the FS the predominantly positive responses were considered in the final version. The board of the FS has declared the paper os a position of the FS, which herewith is internationally presented for discussion.
