Renewable energy in the Netherlands 2000. Contribution to the energy supply in the period 1990-2000

Description
Based on information collected by the Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), the monitoring system for renewables of the federation of energy companies EnergieNed, and on separate inventories of Ecofys, KEMA and BECO, an overview is presented of the contribution of domestic renewable energy sources (RES) to the Dutch energy system in the period 1990-2000. The results are expressed in terms of avoided primary energy (in PJs), calculated according to the substitution principle and according to the Protocol for Renewable Energy Statistics (1999) which is the guidance for reporting of RES statistics in the Netherlands. The contribution of renewable energy sources in 2000 is 37 PJ. Since 1990 this means an increase of about 21 PJ. The most important RES that particularly contributed to this increase are wind energy and bioenergy. In recent years the market introduction of larger amounts of small-scale systems becomes noticeable (solar energy, heat pumps and seasonal storage of heat and cold)

Op basis van informatie grotendeels afkomstig van het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek, het Groenlabelsysteem van EnergieNed en deelinventarisaties uitgevoerd door Ecofys, KEMA en BECO is een zo volledig mogelijk overzicht samengesteld van de bijdrage van de binnenlandse productie van duurzame energie aan de Nederlandse energievoorziening in de periode van 1990 t/m 2000. De resultaten zijn uitgedrukt in hoeveelheden vermeden primaire energie (in PJs). De berekening is gedaan volgens de methodiek van het Protocol Monitoring Duurzame Energie en met kentallen voor de referentietechnologieen in het jaar 2000. De vastgestelde bijdrage van duurzame energie in 2000 is 37 PJ. Hiermee is de bijdrage met circa 21 PJ toegenomen sinds 1990. De belangrijkste bronnen die hebben bijgedragen aan de toename van duurzame energie zijn windenergie en bioenergie. Daarnaast is met name de afgelopen jaren de marktintroductie van grotere hoeveelheden kleinschalige systemen merkbaar geworden (zonne-energie, warmtepompen en warmte/koude opslag projecten)Additional details
