Description
This paper compares the meteorological data collected from two nearby locations at Kaiga site, which is a complex terrain. Though the areal distance between the two locations is less than 2 km, strikingly different wind patterns were observed. This paper brings out the differences in the wind pattern around Kaiga site. The study is based on the data collected from 1993-1999 at Location -1 and that collected from 2000-04 at Location -2. The study clearly indicates the necessity of selecting appropriate location for the meteorological data collection which is used for estimating the dilution and dispersion of gaseous effluents, especially in complex terrain like Kaiga.
