Construction of a r.f. mass spectrometer for high precision mass-measurements

Description
We are presently building a radiofrequency mass spectrometer based on the same principle as the one built by L.G. Smith about 20 years ago. We expect a 500 000 resolving power together with a reasonable transmission (proportional 10-4). The parameters which influence the resolving power are shown. The present status of the construction is presented. (orig./HSI)
