Inhalation aerosol scintigraphy of lungs in child age

The diagnostic method is described which used radioactive aerosols to image the ventilating parts of lung parenchyma. The specific features are commented of its application in child patients and results are presented for the most frequent indications. The first results are assessed of the use of the method in pediatric lung diagnosis. Inhalation scintigraphy using radioactive aerosols is a non-specific but sensitive method for detecting motor function defects of bronchi and focal changes in ventilation. It is noninvasive but technically demanding and will become a contribution to lung diagnosis in children. (author)
