Description

In many respects the control of alpha radioactivity in mine atmospheres can be achieved by applying the same methods used for other airborne contaminants such as dust, diesel exhausts, blasting gases and methane. This is done by suppressing, confining, diluting and removing the contaminants. Some additional and special methods and problems encountered are discussed. (author)
