Influence of the spent fuel elements storage time in the PWR reactor refueling projects

Description

This paper presents an evaluation of the influence of the long term fission products decay of the irradiated fuel assemblies withdraw from the pool on the reload design for a typical 1876 MWth PWR (Angra-1 NPP). It has been verified that the core safety limits can be reached with the replacement of about 1/3 of the reactor core by these irradiated fuel assemblies. (author). 7 refs, 5 tabs, 1 fig
