Multi-element analysis of human hair by photonuclear activation

  • 1. CEA Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Saclay, 91 - Gif-sur-Yvette (France). Service d'Etudes Analytiques

Description

Photonuclear activation with 18 and 35 MeV bremsstrahlung beams and gamma ray spectrometry has been used to determine the concentrations of 14 elements in human hair. A careful study of interferences made possible a nondestructive analysis with practical limits of detection between 0.1 and 100 μgxg. (author)
