Effect of aging on the competence for physical defence among A-bomb survivors

  • 1. Hiroshima Univ. (Japan). Research Inst. for Nuclear Medicine and Biology

Description

In a total of 32 patients with multiple myeloma, quality difference in myeloma cells was investigated between the exposed and non-exposed groups. There was no significant difference in vitro proliferation activity and M-protein secretion of myeloma cells in both groups. However, responsiveness of myeloma cells to myeloma cell growth factor was higher in the exposed group than the control group. There was possibility that myeloma cells of the exposed group are more dependent on exogenetic proliferation factors than those of the non-exposed group. (Namekawa, K.)
