Reversed shear Alfven eigenmodes in the frequency range of the triangularity induced gap on JET

  • 1. JET-EFDA, Culham Science Centre, OX14 3DB, Abingdon (United Kingdom)

Description

Reversed shear Alfven eigenmodes in the non-circular triangularity induced Alfven eigenmode frequency range are observed during the current ramp-up phase in JET discharges. Ideal magnetohydrodynamical calculations are able to reproduce the observed Alfven eigenmode spectra accurately. It was found that these modes come into existence because of the plasma elongation.
