Description

Since the Wenchuan earthquake occurred, acquaintance with magnitude of the Wenchuan earthquake and faulting length of Longmenshan faulting during the earthquake has changed greatly. There are some homologies of requirements for the seism and geology between nuclear facilities and hydraulic engineering. The effects of the earthquake and faulting on the Zijingping reservoir located on the Minjiang river can be referred to the seism and geology of nuclear facility sites. The seismogenic structure differed from the capable fault. The aim of geological survey around the sites is mainly to find out the capable fault. The investigation should be strengthened in the seism and geology of nuclear facilities. The seismic parameters should be considered conservatively. (author)
