Toroidal coil of torus type thermonuclear device

Description

Purpose: To facilitate the bonding and dividing operations of coil conductors and to prevent the baking of the joined part. Constitution: The toroidal coil in the torus type thermonuclear device is mound in required winding number, and divided by two conductors into upper and lower parts, said conductors being clamped by bolt. The joined part of the conductors is so formed that the end parts of said conductors are alternately enmeshed with each other at predetermined intervals. In the gap formed between the joined surfaces of both conductors a large number of angular projections are arranged in a zigzag manner on both surfaces and in the periphery of the group of said projections there are fitted a large number of spheroidal guide members through electroconductive plates fitted in retaining holes, and secured thereto by means of screws.
