Thermoluminescence characteristics of pottery lady figures from Tang dynasty

Description
The styles of pottery figures varied tremendously as time passed by. The typical one for the Tang dynasty is the standing lady with its big hair tuft, loose robe and round body to reflect the 'fat' fashion at that time. Forty three painted pottery of standing 'lady' were studied using thermoluminescence dating techniques. The results indicate that genuine figures have similar TL characteristics, such as shape of TL glow curves, equivalent doses and TL sensitivity to irradiation dose, which are significantly different from faked ones. Even artificial irradiation cannot simulate these TL characteristics
