Method of oxidizing and decomposing radioactive organic wastes
Description
Purpose: To accelerate the oxidation and decomposition reactions of radioactive organic wastes in a method of heating the wastes with concentrated sulfuric acid and/or oxidizer to oxidize and decompose the wastes to reduce and treat the wastes by retaining the concentration of the sulfuric acid in a reaction container at predetermined level without newly supplying water content. Method: In the oxidation and decomposition treatments of radioactive organic wastes with boiled concentrated sulfuric acid and/or oxidizer in a reaction container, the vapor produced by boiling of solution in the reaction container is cooled by indirect thermal exchange with cooling medium retained at temperatures of 130 to 3000C to partly condense the vapor and to circulate the condensate into the reaction container.
